Yesterday, fresh off vaporizing 850 al Qaeda and their US trainers for attempting to snatch some MPs:
The photographs that the Russian Defense Ministry published on Sunday on its Facebook page provide compelling evidence that the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the US troops that support them are present in Syria’s areas held by the violent extremist group Daesh, the ministry said Monday.
Later, from Moon of Alabama:
Last night a Russian three-star general and two colonels were killed in a mortar attack while they visited a Syrian army headquarter in Deir Ezzor.”
From the RT, this morning:
The Russian Air Force did not perform airstrikes on Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) near Syrian city of Deir Ez-Zor, the Defense Ministry said. The SDF earlier accused Russia of repeatedly targeting its positions near a major gas field.
From The Saker:
[T]hey have now apparently taken the decision to directly target Russian military personnel and they are using their considerable reconnaissance capabilities combined with US Special Forces on the ground, working side by side with “good” and “bad” terrorists, to target and attack Russian military personnel.
From Auslander in the comments:
It is my understanding that three rounds, the only rounds fired, all landed direct on target and appeared as a salvo.
US-supported variant of al Qaeda tried to snatch some MPs, who were hardened Chechens, and called in Spetsnaz for support. Spetsnaz forward controllers lined up all the AQ targets and called in battalion level MLRS, which vaporised 850 terrorists and their US trainers. A bunch of A-Teams won’t be coming home.
We apparently had intel on the top Russian general in Syria paying a visit, and triangulated three mortar rounds.
From GeorgeG at The Saker:
When so-called “professionals” are not acting “professionally”, which they are not doing if they start betting the Russians will not kill them, then either they are fools, and not professionals, or they are the tools of some policy.
